Hey! I’m Joni Robbins. My husband, Chad, and I have been married for 27 years and are blessed with two sons. Our oldest, Anson, is married to Caitlyn, whom we love dearly. Our youngest son, Ethan, tragically passed away in May of 2017. In his memory, we established the Ethan Robbins Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to providing scholarships for children to attend the private Christian school our boys went to.

We live in Red Oak, a small, close-knit community in Eastern North Carolina, where we share our home with our beloved Australian Shepherds—Levi, Elsie, and their grand-dog-daughter, Pecan.

Our Breeding Program

We raise both Standard and Mini Australian Shepherds and are passionate about breeding well-socialized, loving companions while supporting a cause close to our hearts. All profits from our puppies go directly to EthanRobbinsFund.org, helping children access a quality Christian education.

Our puppies are raised in our home or in carefully selected guardian homes, ensuring they receive individual attention, love, and early training from day one. They are well-socialized in a cozy home environment and experience daily interactions with people, including children, family, and friends.

Puppy Enrichment & Socialization

We use a variety of early enrichment methods to set our puppies up for success:

✔ Daily human interaction and handling
✔ Exposure to various sounds, textures, and new environments
✔ Socialization with other dogs, children, and the elderly
✔ Introduction to car rides, stairs, different surfaces, and novel objects
✔ Early training in bite inhibition, crate training, and potty training (starting at 4-5 weeks)
✔ Basic obedience, including "sit" and beginning recall training

🚫 For safety reasons, our puppies are not taken to public places before being fully vaccinated at 16 weeks.

Spay/Neuter Contract & Breeding Rights

🐶 Breeding rights can be negotiated, but unless otherwise agreed upon, all puppies will be placed on a spay and neuter contract.
🐶 If at any point a puppy owner is unable to keep their dog, they must notify us before rehoming them. We will help rehome and even take them into our home if necessary.

Currently have one breeding pair we raise in our active home. Phoenix the mama is a blue merle 17" and 45lbs. Scout the daddy is a red Tri with blue eyes and 14" and 25lbs. They will have another litter next winter/early spring 2026.

We aspire to raise Aussies of all sizes that stay true to type, temperment and structure.  As professional dog trainers, as well as professional breeders, we understand the importance of temperment and raise our puppies with the Puppy Culture Protocols and lots of socialization from being raised in our home with our family.  Our Aussie is featured in the Puppy Culture video.

All of our dogs are tested by Paw Prints Genetics with full breed panels.  We also CERF each dog prior to breeding and do hip x-rays that are sent to OFA.

Our dogs enjoy running and playing on our 7 acre farm and often accomodate me as demo dogs for our obedience classes. Hello we are Rudy and Kathleen "Kat"  Jaramillo (Har-a-me-yo) . We have a working cattle ranch in Northern New Mexico. We also find ourselves working at some other jobs such as heavy equipment work and forestry contracting. I, Kat have recently gone back to work outside of the ranch. Between us we have four grown sons. Two who have given us grandchildren. One son works with us on the ranch and another helps when he can.

The incorporation of Australian shepherds in the ranch, specially the Toy variety, came by accident. Both of us had encountered the breed before and liked them. This encounter was with the original full sized breed, what is now often referred to as the Standard or standard size Australian Shepard. This to differentiate between those and the Mini  and Toy. We have had and even raised Blue Heelers along with having other working dog mixes to assist on the ranch, but never a small pet such as the Toy Aussie. Until now! After being presented with a Toy Aussie pup as gift we immediately fell in love. The little lady was smart and loving, playful and friendly with tons of personality and energy. An unexpected bonus was that she was registered American Stock Dog Registry (ASDR) and had breeding rights.

Our first non-working dog in awhile, she soon had the run of house, rode in the cab of the truck and even slept on the bed. We were and are in love! Before long we found ourselves with a Tri-color male, who also has become family. We can't imagine life without these wonderful creatures and want to share this breed with others so they can have the same joy.

In January 2023 we had a successful coupling of our female, Azules and male, Pinon. March 14, 2023, Azules gave birth to 5 beautiful puppies for our first litter! This was a joyful occasion, but also during a difficult time, as Rudy was diagnosed with cancer in February. We were away from home so he could received treatments. Fortunately, we stayed in a place where we could look after our new fur family. Son,John took the lead in looking after the ranch with other son Jack assisting as he could and looking after our house. While a new litter did increase work load during a difficult time, having our dogs with us and the pups made for a delightful distraction and great emotional support. 

This is one reason I (Kat) did not take them to have their tails docked. I'm not huge fan of docking and the Aussie's have beautiful tails so this might be a more common theme with our program. They can still be bred and registered with ASDR, but they won't be as appropriate for show as they would be deducted some points for having a tail. New owners can opt to have the tail docked of course. Our hope is to provide delightful companion dogs that are both beautiful, intelligent and a joy to have in your life. Our program is still in the early stages, at this time as a hobby breeding venture, but it is likely to grow or adapt as Rudy will be retiring from the cattle ranch, although. I am sure he may help on occasion with that cattle as will I. He has always been an extremely hard worker and will want to keep busy. However as he moves away from the cattle side of things,  our little dogs are going to be come more of a focus. Small-scale breeder of Miniature Aussies . We prioritize temperament and health. Both our founding dogs have worked as service animals for medical alert or autism support, and have clean DNA profiles. (Note: we keep tails intact)

We focus on the small-sized Australian Shepherd. Most are10-14 inches and averaging 7-15 lbs. All dogs live in the house with us as part of our family. My name is Amanda and I have been raising Miniature and Toy Australian Shepherds since 2012. Located in Northwest Ohio, I focus on breeding dogs that have the great family temperament with correct structure. Located in Southern Oregon. Grayback Aussies is family owned and operated on 50 acers of farmland. Litters are raised in our home using the puppy culture program. Parents are part of our family and provide support to the special needs of ones within our home. Parents are full panel tested and veterinarian certified to be clear of elbow & hip dysplasia once they reach adulthood and before any litters are planned. Continued education for our adult dogs is an important part of their overall well-being. Jake (BTM) enjoys backpacking in the surrounding mountains and scent work when not hanging around with family or out on the farm. Sadie (BMF) enjoys overnight trips to the ocean and small events that keep activities fresh and new. To date, she has earned her CGCA, Farm Dog and Rally Novice Titles and is working toward Therapy Certification next year.
