Striving to promote all aspects of the herding breeds
Objectives and basic guidelines for American Stock Dog Clubs

The purpose of the club shall be to promote and better each breed as well as to encourage the fellowship of owners &/or breeders.

ASDR clubs will be required to accept the following breeds: Australian Cattle Dogs, Australian Shepherds (Standard, Miniature, & Toy), and Border Collies.

Membership is open to any person that has a dog registered with ASDR. Membership fees shall be $25. $20 toward the club & $5 to the registry. Family memberships will be made available as well. Each additional family member will be $10 per member. Family membership consists of parents and children under the age of 18.

Members under the age of 18 shall not have voting rights w/in the club.

Upon club approval each membership application will be sent to us and each member will be issued a card. Memberships will be good for one year.

Each ASDR Club is expected to have at least one sanctioned show per year & entry fees are to not exceed $20 per event.

Each club will be responsible for election of their officers which will include, President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Each elected official will serve a one year term.

Each club will be required to have a minimum of, but not limited to, quarterly meetings. We ask that these meeting be documented and the minutes sent to us.

Each club will be required to inform us of pending show dates as to not interfere with a neighboring club.

Any ASDR club member has the right to show at ANY ASDR sanctioned show. Shows shall not be limited to that clubs members. Playdates are allowed if each club would like to have mock shows.

Please try to include the following in your shows: Conformation, Herding, Agility, Obedience. These classes will all be available at the Regional and National Shows.
What the Registry will provide.
We have given you basic rules & regulations for you as club members, now you get to hear what we are going to provide for you.
Along with a membership card each member will receive a t-shirt.

We will provide a listing for contact info for each club on our website.

Each State will receive one seminar per year per state. This will be a great opportunity to fellowship with other club members in your state.

ASDR will be hosting 4-5 Regional shows w/in the United States. As well as 1-2 foreign shows. You MUST have shown in at least one club show or one state show to qualify to go to regionals. The location of the shows will be based on membership numbers.

Our regionals shows will have added money and awards.

The top 5 dogs in each class will move on to the National Show to compete for the ASDR champion title.

We will also be hosting open classes at our National Show for anyone else who would like to come and join the fun. As there will be added money & awards in these classes as well.

At the Regional and National Show we will be hosting a Top Dog Competition for the all around dog that has the ability to succeed in Obedience, Herding, Agility, & Conformation. We are really looking forward to promoting all aspects of these breeds.

Each club will receive official rules that will further explain what we expect. So if you are looking for fellowship & fun times.........and a chance to name your dog ASDR champion or even Top Dog join or start and ASDR club today.
